Sustainability Efforts of Explore Edmonton: Shifting Towards Regenerative Tourism
Explore Edmonton Video Case Study
Explore Edmonton takes pride in their commitment to sustainable practices. They have partnered with Green Key Global to ensure that sustainability is ingrained in all their operations. In our latest video case study, Josef Legaspi, Social Sustainability Specialist at Edmonton Convention Centre; Sophie Angoh, Sustainability Analyst at Edmonton EXPO Centre; and Kristen Foster, Senior Event Manager at Edmonton Convention Centre, showcase the sustainability efforts of Explore Edmonton’s two event spaces. They have worked hard to achieve their Green Key Global certification, which involves shifting towards regenerative tourism and events, reducing single-use plastics, and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions and waste.
Through their partnership with Green Key Global, Explore Edmonton has access to valuable resources and tools that help them continuously improve their sustainability practices. They are dedicated to not only sustaining, but also giving back and making tangible impacts through their programs at Explore Edmonton and both of their venues.
“I think it starts with certifications like Green Key. The certifications provide us with questions, checklists, and requirements to allow us to understand where we can improve in our operations,” says Sophie Angoh, Sustainability Analyst at Edmonton EXPO Centre. “They also help us understand what best practices we need to implement or to strengthen in order to keep growing.”
We invite you to watch our video case study to learn more about their commitment to sustainability and how membership with Green Key Global is helping them achieve our goals.
