The Green Key Eco-Rating Program
The Green Key Eco-Rating Program is a graduated rating system designed to recognize hotels, motels and resorts that are committed to improving their environmental and fiscal performance.
Based on the results of a comprehensive environmental self-assessment, lodging facilities are awarded a rating from 1 to 5 Keys, 5 Keys being the highest attainable. In support of their efforts towards becoming a cutting-edge green lodging property, members are provided with guidance on how to “unlock” opportunities for reductions in utility consumption, waste, emissions, and operating costs. Additional recommendations are also outlined for employee training, staff and customer engagement, supply chain management, community involvement and more.
Green Key Meetings Program
The Green Key Meetings Program, co-created by Green Key Global and The MPI Foundation Canada, is a comprehensive assessment tool for eco-friendly lodging and event facilities that host meetings of any size. Shaped by planner members of MPI and the needs of the business event industry the Program is an excellent tool for Travel, Meeting and Conference Planners in determining a facility’s level of commitment to environmental issues.
Based on the results of a comprehensive environmental self-assessment, facilities are awarded a rating from 1 to 5 Keys, 5 Keys being the highest attainable. Detailed Performance Reports showcase a member’s accomplishments while also outlining areas in which they could improve.
